Taituarā is the national organisation that supports and develops local government professionals around New Zealand.
5 leadership modules
To provide an opportunity to encourage collaboration and efficiency across Councils in different regions through the shared frameworks, models, language and networks established in a longitudinal leadership programme.
Having recently completed a series of successful workshops with Auckland Council, Capability Group approached Taituarā with the intent of partnering to create a positive leadership capability lift and build collaborative relationships between local government organisations in a region, across every region in NZ.
The programme is held on a regional basis and is made up of five modules which are hosted by a different council each month and often includes a conversation with the host CEO. It covers topics such as having a leadership mindset, engaging hearts and minds, collaboration and influence, customer driven culture, and driving change.
700-800 participants have been through the programme over the 4 years it has been running and it has become highly regarded across the local government sector. The positive impacts from the programme have also boosted Taituarā’s revenue, reputation and membership and they now have traction in some regions where they has previously found it difficult to get buy in to their full suite of offerings to the sector.
