Capability Group wins two Brandon Hall Excellence Awards in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We were honoured to receive two Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards in recognition of our commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion through innovative programmes created in collaboration with our clients. Both programmes are powerful learning experiences that continue to transform individuals, teams, and communities, addressing critical social challenges and building a more equitable and inclusive future.

"We are really chuffed about these awards," said Drew McGuire, CEO at Capability Group. "This is purely because they represent and acknowledge some incredible people doing remarkable things. Obviously a big shout out to the talented Capability Group team. I'm also hugely grateful to Emma and the OFC team, and Paul and the Vector team, both great people and teams working for exceptional organisations. Both of these programmes are having transformative impacts across the South Pacific and its cool to be part of the journey!”

Gold Award: "Women in Football Capacity Building" in partnership with Oceania Football Confederation (OFC)

We worked with OFC to design and develop a transformative journey to change mindsets and empower women in football across the South Pacific! The Women in Football Capacity Building Programme was designed to equip Women’s Football Development Officers with the tools and confidence to not only grow the game but also enhance the quality of life for girls and women through football. As a result, participants on the programme became facilitators within their communities, creating a ripple effect of positive change. The impact extended beyond football, empowering these women with life skills that are transferable across every aspect of their lives.

Today, there are 19 Women's Development Officers who have extended the reach of the programme to nearly 500 women across 18 cohorts. The success of the programme is not just about football, it's about empowering women to make a difference in their communities and beyond.

Silver Award: "Growing Nui Pasifika Leaders Programme (Poetry for Purpose)" in partnership with Vector Limited.

The Growing Nui Pasifika Leaders Programme uses the power of poetry to elevate leadership skills and foster a stronger sense of purpose and empowerment among participants. It's more than just a leadership programme; it's a journey of self-discovery and growth.

The programme runs over 10 months and includes 10 workshops. Between each workshop, participants seek to apply what they’ve learned in their workplace and meet to reflect on their learning and coach each other on implementing new skills and tools.

One of the participants says: “I believe more in myself and no longer have to worry about cloaking my 'Pacificness' to suit the corporate environment.”

These awards wouldn't have been possible without the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our remarkable team, clients, and partners. We'd like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who played pivotal roles in these transformative initiatives:

Emma Evans and Ashleigh Cox of OFC, your commitment to the "Women in Football Capacity Building" programme has been a driving force behind its success. Paul McCloskey of Vector Limited, your support and partnership have been phenomenal in the realisation of the "Growing Nui Pasifika Leaders Programme (Poetry for Purpose)."

Selina Tusitala Marsh and Jeremy Leslie, our programme facilitators for Poetry for Purpose, your expertise and passion have left an indelible mark on this initiative.

While celebrating our successes, we also remember a key contributor to the Growing Nui Pasifika Leaders Programme, Fraser Buchanan, who is sadly no longer with us. Fraser's vision and dedication have left an incredible mark on our work, and his legacy continues to inspire us.
